Currently, the research on the membranes is conducted by a team of engineers who have experience in:

  • installation design

  • process engineering

  • CAD design

  • automatic regulation system design (mainly PLC)

  • industrial production

  • project management

The head of the team is Professor Wojciech Piątkiewicz, an expert on liquid filtration employing the membrane technologies.

Prof. Wojciech Piątkiewicz

He studied on Department of Mechanics, Power Engineering and Aviation of Warsaw University of Technology. After second year, he received a scholarship to continue his studies at Leningrad Institute of Precision Mechanics and Optics (currently St. Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics) where he received the title of Master of Science, Engineer. After returning to Poland, he started working at Polish Academy of Science. Further degrees he obtained in 1973 (Ph.D.) and 1988 (D.Sc. - habilitation). In 2001 he began to work on the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology, where he dealt with topics of membrane technology.

He is an author and co-author of around 140 scientific publications and 14 patents. He has won numerous awards, including the Teamwork National Award of the second degree, the awards of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Rector of Warsaw University of Technology award. He was also awarded with teamwork Award the Prime Minister "Polish Product of the Future" and the emblem of "Teraz Polska". He is a member and founder of Polish Membrane Society as well as its first president. He is also a member of European Membrane Society.

His position in PolymemTech is a Board Member and Technical Director who supervises the work of departments responsible for creation of new technologies and products. He also participates in processes of designing and production supervision.

Roger White

He has been working on the topic of membrane filtration for years, especially on usage of ceramic membranes. His education includes the mechanics and chemical engineering and UK recognised HNC qualifications.

His professional specialities, apart from ceramic membranes, are processes of fermentation and biotechnology, purification of water and oils, purification of fuels for ships, and membrane emulsification.

At PolymemTech, Roger White is a Chairman of the Board. Additionally, he participates in designing processes.

Dr inż. Maciej Szwast

He received the M.Sc. degree on the Department of Mechatronics of Warsaw University of Technology (automatics and robotics, 2005), and Ph.D. on the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology (2009). Currently, he is employed as an assistant professor in Integrated Process Engineering Chair at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology (since 2009), and on a position of Head of Research and Development Department in PolymemTech (since 2007). He is a Secretary of Polish Membrane Society and a Head of Research Team of the Membranes and Membrane Processes at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology.

In his research he deals with topics of membrane production technology for separation of liquids and gases, operation and optimisation of membrane processes, but also, the topics of process engineering in medicine. He is an author and co-author of over 40 reviewed scientific articles, 5 patents and patent applications as well as over a dozen industrial studies. He participated in implementation of 15 research grants (domestic and international), including 3 as a leader.

At PolymemTech, he is responsible for the work of Research and Development Department as head of its research team, but also he designs and performs membrane installation automatic regulation systems.

Mgr inż. Marek Roguski

He received a M.Sc. degree at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2007 he has been working as a Head of the Technology and Production Department.

He is a co-author of scientific articles, patents and patent applications, studies for the industry and many implementations of technologies and new products to the industry. He participated in implementation of research grants (domestic and international).

At PolymemTech, he is responsible for the work of Technology and Production Department. He is also a main process engineer. His work includes designing and performing the membrane installations. The head of the production team is eager to participate in a team's work by tending the quality of every element of our products.
